A Boeing 707-131 at San Francisco Airport (SFO) in May 1981. The registration number is not visible in this image, but I found it on another image of the same plane. TWA's N748TW has an interesting history to say the least. It survived a mid-air collision with an Eastern Airlines Constellation over Carmel, New York in 1965.This plane's wingtip clipped one of three tailfins on the Constellation, and both planes went out of control. The TWA plots were able to recover and the plane made a successful emergency landing at JFK airport. The Constellation, which had lost a control surface, had a more challenging situation, but the pilots were able to maintain some control and crash landed on a hillside pasture. There were four fatalities and 50 survivors. The TWA plane was repaired and remained in service until 1982 when it was used for parts for military KC-135 tankers.
