While visiting Santa Barbara in January 1998 we stopped to tour the mission. This is the only California Mission with symmetrical towers, so naturally I made an asymetrical photograph. Few of the architectural shapes are completely contained within the frame, yet each seems complete as we look at the whole. The sky had a thin overcast which provided a soft, even light without harsh shadows.
