This "generic" DC-9 used to visit Monterey fairly often. I have no idea who it belongs to, whether a charter operator or one of the more wealthy folks of Pebble Beach.

It's lack of fancy color scheme make it a somewhat bland subject for the camera under most circumstances. On this July afternoon in 1997, however, the sun was bright and the air was clear. The two men were walking around the plane. Most of the time all I could see was their legs below the fuselage, which would have just been a distraction in a photo. But for a moment they paused and left me a composition that put the whole plane into perspective.
